Hack Your Summer is a free, four-week high-velocity production sprint designed for undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates to build tangible, public-facing work. The initiative serves as an alternative to traditional internships amid a crisis of reduced internship availability in the US.
The program helps participants identify projects, make steady progress, and receive support from mentors and peers to create work suitable for future employers. A second cohort begins on July 13th with an application deadline of July 8th, and the organizers are currently accepting volunteers to mentor students.
This initiative provides a viable path for students who missed out on rare internships due to companies reducing hiring ambitions and coaching capacity.
