Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-04
This site publishes multilingual machine-learning news. This policy explains what we collect when you visit and how we use it. We collect only what we need to measure traffic and improve the site — no advertising, no data sales, no cross-site tracking.
What we collect
- Pages you view, your language, and the external site that referred you.
- A salted, one-way hash of your IP address — the original IP is never stored and cannot be recovered.
- Your browser, operating system and device type, read from your browser's user-agent.
- Technical details of each request: the raw user-agent string, whether the request looks like a bot, the date and time, the HTTP response status, and how long the page took to render on the server.
- Only if you consent: random session and visitor IDs (cookies) to count unique people and sessions, and an approximate country/region from your IP (resolved before the IP is hashed).
- Only if you consent: time on page and scroll depth, kept in aggregate.
Cookies and consent
We set analytics cookies only after you accept them in the banner. If you decline or ignore it, we keep only a pseudonymous hashed-IP log — no identifying cookies and no location lookup. A small preference cookie remembers your choice. We never use cookies for advertising.
Email digest
If you subscribe to the weekly digest, we store your email address, chosen language and delivery time, salted one-way hashes of the IPs used to request and confirm the subscription, and a log of sent issues. We use this only to deliver the digest — never for advertising, never shared. Every email includes one-click unsubscribe; unsubscribing stops sends immediately. To fully erase your address, contact us below.
How we use it
Only in aggregate — to see which content is read, where visitors come from, and how the site performs, so we can improve it. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes and do not build advertising profiles.
How long we keep it
Analytics records are deleted automatically after 90 days. Rotating our secret key permanently severs the link between stored rows and any IP.
Your choices
You can accept or decline analytics cookies at any time from the consent banner; declining keeps your visit cookieless — only the pseudonymous hashed-IP log remains. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser. That log is pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous: the same IP produces the same hash, so repeat visits can be linked, but the original IP is never stored and we do not use the log to identify you personally.
