Microsoft Foundry adds curated Hugging Face models via Managed Compute

Microsoft has integrated a curated subset of open-weight models from the Hugging Face ecosystem into the Microsoft Foundry Model Catalog, accessible through its new Foundry Managed Compute platform.

• Models are security-screened, converted to SafeTensors format, and pre-staged in Azure storage to eliminate outbound network dependencies.
• The curation pipeline automatically selects trending models, reviews licenses, and builds optimized inference containers for runtimes like vLLM and TensorRT-LLM.
• Deployments share a single endpoint, SDKs, and authentication with other Foundry services, supporting global or data zone residency.

This integration allows enterprises to deploy open-source models with enterprise-grade security and operational simplicity without managing the underlying infrastructure.
