It matches GPT-5.4 per-token latency in real-world serving and delivers state-of-the-art intelligence at half the cost of competitive frontier coding models on Artificial Analysis's Coding Index.
GPT-5.5 is designed to excel at agentic coding, computer use, and knowledge work by understanding intent and navigating ambiguity across tools. OpenAI implemented its strongest set of safeguards to date, including targeted testing for advanced cybersecurity and biology capabilities.
