Anthropic has introduced Claude for Teachers, a free tool providing verified K-12 educators in the US with premium Claude capabilities and access to evidence-based curricula. The platform connects to Learning Commons to align lesson planning with academic standards across all 50 states and integrates with various educational tools like ASSISTments, Brisk Teaching, and Canva Education.

Key features include tailored teaching skills co-developed with Learning Commons for tasks such as lesson planning and differentiation. Claude Code and Cowork allow the system to analyze class data and schedule repeated tasks autonomously. The service ensures student data privacy through a K-12 Data Processing Addendum compliant with FERPA, with no data used for model training.

Anthropic is piloting an evaluation of the tool in Detroit Public Schools Community District to study its impact on educator well-being. The company also released AI Fluency for K-12 Teachers, a course co-created with Teach for America, and is partnering with the Gates Foundation to develop tools that improve educational outcomes.
