OpenAI has launched GPT-Live-1 and GPT-Live-1 mini to power a rebuilt ChatGPT Voice, introducing full-duplex audio processing that allows simultaneous listening and speaking. The system delegates complex queries to background reasoning models like GPT-5.5, enabling continuous conversation while deeper thinking occurs.

  • GPT-Live-1 scores 84.2% on GPQA and 75.2% on BrowseComp at high reasoning effort, outperforming the previous Advanced Voice Mode.
  • The models support live translation, nine remastered voices, and user-selectable reasoning levels (Instant, Medium, High).
  • Available globally on iOS, Android, and ChatGPT.com, GPT-Live-1 is default for Go, Plus, and Pro plans.

In a separate legal development, the Regional Court of Munich ruled that Google can be held liable for defamatory statements generated by its AI Overview feature in search results.

The court issued a temporary injunction requiring Google to stop disseminating false claims about German publishers after an AI-generated summary incorrectly labeled them as fraudulent.
