Google expands Gemini Intelligence task automation and brings Notebook to Galaxy devices

At Galaxy Unpacked 2026, Google announced three updates for the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8, centering on the rollout of Gemini Intelligence. The company is expanding its task automation capabilities to support over 40 popular apps and introducing the Gemini Notebook app directly to these devices.

Task automation now supports more than 40 apps, allowing Gemini to handle tasks like booking reservations and buying tickets, with advanced reasoning to parse complex images as prompts.
Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) is preinstalled on the new foldables, enabling users to drag and drop multimodal sources into a side-by-side workspace for research and content creation.
Every Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 includes a six-month trial of Google AI Pro to access features like Audio Overviews and Slides.
Gemini is being extended to the Galaxy Watch 9 with wake-word-free activation and to new smart glasses from Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, controllable via hand gestures.

These updates aim to simplify daily routines and boost productivity by integrating proactive AI assistance across smartphones, watches, and eyewear.
