Major technology companies including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Mistral have signed the EU Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content.
The agreement requires these firms to implement watermarking for both code and text generated by their models. This requirement applies even to open source local models distributed by these companies.
